Welcome, dear one.
I’m so happy you’re here. 💜
Before we begin, I invite you to take a deep, slow breath.
Burnout to Balance is a space to slow down, soften, and reconnect — to your body, breath, and heart. It’s a place to explore what it means to live and embody a more balanced, intentional, present, and creative life in a world that asks us to move way too fast.
If you’re a teacher or other high-achieving professional living a full, fast, and frantic life — and you’re seeking pockets of calm and presence in your day — you’re in the right place.
Because you’re here right now, I invite you to to explore the paid space with a week of free access.
What You’ll Receive:
Free subscribers will receive occasional free posts & honest reflections on both burnout and balance — especially at the intersection of patriarchy and capitalism and how these insidious systems shape women’s experiences of exhaustion, self-worth, and burnout.
Paid subscribers will receive a Mindful Mondays, a short mindfulness meditation emailed directly to your inbox every Monday morning — so you can begin your week feeling present and grounded. (Along with access to the archive of meditations.)
Founding members will receive access to a weekly slow flow yoga class. (Coming soon!)
You’re welcome to begin with a free meditation to see if this resonates.

Who Am I?
Hi, I’m Casey. 🤗
I’m a freelance writer, yoga and mindfulness teacher, and professional organizer. I’m also a former elementary teacher, having spend nearly a decade teaching at international schools in Thailand, Egypt and Mexico.
My yoga and mindfulness journey began while living in India in my early twenties, and these practices have been steady companions throughout my adult life.
I completed my yoga teacher training in Bali in 2016 and return every few years to assist with trainings. My teaching style is slow, safe, and accessible to all bodies — rooted in presence rather than performance.
In 2019, I earned a unique Master’s degree in Mindfulness for Educators, which allowed me to support schools around the world in implementing yoga and mindfulness programs for both for students and staff.
Over the last decade, I’ve taught yoga and mindfulness to children and adults in schools, hostels, and hotels. I’ve worked as the in-house yoga teacher at multiple Selina locations (one of the world’s largest hostel brands), and as an account manager and editor for the largest online retreat booking platform.
I’ve long been a teacher and guide, a role I cherish, but I’m always a student of life. I draw my teaching style and inspiration from a variety of influences: my own lived experiences, my yoga and meditation training and lineage, modern mindfulness teachers, my work with Path of Love, and Buddhist ways of being, as I spent five years living in Bangkok, Thailand.
It brings me such joy to lead yoga classes and meditations, and my purpose is helping other find moments of spaciousness, presence and calm.
Why Burnout to Balance? My Burnout Story:
Sometimes you’re living a life meditation just can’t fix. 🤷♀️
At the height of the covid pandemic, I was working as a second grade teacher at a prestigious international school in Guadalajara, Mexico. I was over the moon to be leading after-school yoga and morning mindfulness meditation classes for staff at my school — helping fellow staff members find peace and presence during the dumpster fire of the pandemic.
But I felt like a hypocrite. I was preaching presence and deep breaths while operating in a system that made presence and deep breaths nearly impossible. I was overworked, overwhelmed and experiencing a severe burnout. (If you navigated the e-learning hellscape as a teacher during the pandemic, you know.)
So, at the end of 2021, I quit my teaching job mid-year and moved back to Colorado after ten years of living and working abroad. I bought a one-way ticket to Spain, packed my backpack, and set off on the Camino de Santiago. (I’m writing a memoir about it!)
I’ve been working on finding balance ever since — not the shallow “do a facemask in the bathtub” kind of balance, but true, deep life balance that honors me, as a soft, sensitive, and empathetic woman and allows me the space to create and then rest without guilt.
I’ve learned a lot since my burnout, and I’m still learning on this lifelong journey of burnout to balance — and I want to share that with you.
